Huskees&Bees is growing!!

Huskees&Bees apiary is growing this spring. Pictured is a swarm we caught this past weekend from a local apiary. The owers were out of town when one of their hives swarmed and lucky us got the call to go get them.

We named them Curve-elle because of her amazing curves. She was big and filled a deep broad box all by herself. We did full inspections on a few of our other hives to prevent swarms this past weekend as well.

We've done two splits so far this spring and one has been confirmed succesful. We spotted the queen on this past inspection and it doesn't look like she's been mated yet.

So the plan is to get into them all again this weekend and check up on our queens and splits.

So with our mites under control and our splits split, we are heading straight into honey season. From here we should just need to make sure they have enough space to store their goodies.

Come July timeframe, once the honey flow is over, we will pull supers and check and treat for mites to prepare for the fall honey flow and winter. It makes us so happy to see our bees thriving.

The honey they bring in is un-beatable.
